To promote nutrition at Eisenhower Elementary, the Gardening Club uses their bounty to make healthy snacks. Using fresh ingredients students are learning how to make nutritious snacks, like Guacamole, and also learning how to use what they grow.
At Brownell STEM Academy, students start and end their time at YouthQuest with positive affirmation time. Affirmations students repeat including “I will start my day better than yesterday,” “we will never fail,” and “I am amazing.”
Students at Doyle Rider Elementary received a lesson in mechanics before they were able to enjoy themselves during their field trip at Rollhaven. Participants learned about propulsion, movement and the mechanics of the wheel before they laced up. After skating, students had more fun playing laser tag.
In Showy Show club at Dye Elementary, students are honing their talents. Those who have aspirations of being an entertainer learned different forms of entertainment such as comedy, singing and acting.
