Want a Summer Job? The Application Process Starts Now

|

There are plenty of summer job opportunities for TeenQuest graduates through Summer Youth Initiative (SYI). Graduates of the pre-employment and leadership training program who are in high school and between the ages of 14-19 are invited to apply for the SYI Job Fair that will be held at the end of April. Applications are due March 27.

“Through TeenQuest, students learn skills that prepare them for the workforce and beyond,” says James Avery, Director of Education & Training at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce. “Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations, we give students the opportunity to use those skills through summer jobs.”

In SYI, students get on the job training from a variety of local businesses and organizations. Past employers have included Genesee County Parks, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan and the Flint Public Library.
