Take advantage of these scholarship opportunities

With the 2024 school year ending, high school students might be wondering about their next steps. Those considering going to a college, university, or trade school will want to pay attention to the scholarships still available to incoming freshmen for the 2024/2025 school year.  

Here are some scholarships to look into:  

Rotary Club of Greater Flint Sunrise Scholarships: 

Open to graduating seniors who will be attending college or trade school in the state of Michigan, the Rotary Club of Greater Flint is offering two scholarships up to $2,000 to cover tuition, fees, books, and/or supplies. The application deadline is April 26, 2024.

Genesee Opportunity (GO) 

The GO stipend provides Genesee County high school graduates with money for college, career training, or certification licensing fees. To be eligible, you must reside in Genesee County and be a graduate from a Genesee County high school.

Michigan Achievement Scholarships 

The Michigan Achievement scholarships are designed to help recent graduates from high schools in Michigan receive funds for continuing education. Eligible students could receive financial aid to attend a college, university, or career training program.

Flint Promise 

Flint Promise is a scholarship program for graduates who reside and attend high school in the city of Flint. By covering the cost of tuition after federal grants and other scholarships have been applied, Flint Promise allows eligible students to attend participating colleges for little to no cost. Students in the Flint Promise program also work with a success coach to ensure that they have the resources they need to thrive in their higher education journey.
