Small Business Month: Resources in Flint & Genesee

|

3 in 5 teens are more interested in starting their own business than having a traditional job, according to a survey performed by Junior Achievement USA. This could mean many more small businesses will be entering our community in the coming years.

With the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance’s Small Business Support Hub, business owners, entrepreneurs, and even established small businesses can get technical assistance and coaching, customer connections, capital, business resources, and resource partner connections.

The Small Business Support Hub launched last month with four locations throughout the county to support small businesses. The hub has in-person office hours available for walk-ins every Monday at Berton Field House in Flint, the City of Swartz Creek Municipal Building, and the Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce. The hubs’ headquarters is open for walk-ins on the first Wednesday of each month at the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance.

The small business team at Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance is available by appointment throughout the week, as well. With this, those who are trying to launch their business can find all the resources and support they need. And this is available to all who are looking to start a business, regardless of age. For the roughly 60% of teens who want to become entrepreneurs, this resource is vital.
