Know a female high school senior who dreams of opening her own business one day? Let her know that applications are currently being accepted by the Katharine Roat Stevens Fund, which will award up to $1,000 to at least one graduating senior in Genesee County this year.
The scholarship – named for a well-known Genesee County business owner and advocate for women in business – is administered by the Genesee Chamber Foundation. The organization will accept applications through March 31, 2017.
“This is an excellent opportunity for young women interested in starting and managing their own business one day,” said Rhetta Hunyady, Vice President of Education & Training at the Flint & Genesee Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the Genesee Chamber Foundation. “We hope that this scholarship will serve as a stepping stone in achieving their entrepreneurial aspirations.”
